For parents to see their children go without food is unbearable. To see them shivering on freezing nights without blankets, or having them in the backseat of a car instead of in a warm bed night after night for weeks, months and sometimes years, is unthinkable. Does this happen in Silicon Valley? The truth is, it happens far more often than you could possibly imagine.
That’s why WVCS exists - to help folks in our community secure housing and food for their families. And with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day right around the corner, we want to invite you - our community - to be part of our Share Your Love campaign supporting parents in the west valley facing food and housing insecurity.
Throughout May and June you can make a donation to the Share Your Love fundraiser that will help honor mothers and fathers in our community by making sure that they have the necessities they need for their families to thrive - things like pots and pans, sheets and pillows, furniture, and even cribs for babies. In addition, when you make a donation online, you can honor a mother or father figure in your own life who will receive a custom e-card with a special message from you acknowledging that the donation to the Share Your Love program was made in their honor. This is a great way to thank a parent, sibling, teacher, friend, aunt, uncle or other treasured individual on Mother’s Day or Father’s Day, while supporting a family in need in our community.
