This Privacy Policy applies to all websites of West Valley Community Services, namely www.wvcommunityservices.org, www.chefsofcompassion.org, and www.tasteofcompassion.org (the “Site” or “Sites”) which are owned and operated by West Valley Community Services (or “WVCS”).

 

At WVCS, we recognize and respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy has been compiled to better serve those who are concerned with how their 'Personally Identifiable Information' (PII) is being used online. When donating or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, email address or other details to help you with your experience.

We collect information from you when you register on our site, make a donation, subscribe to a newsletter or enter payment information on our site.

We may use the information we collect from you when you make a donation, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, navigate the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:

Your participation in such is entirely voluntary.  If you do participate, we may combine your responses with the other information we have collected about you. We will not share your individual responses with third parties, other than our service providers who help us to administer and analyze the results, unless we notify you first and obtain your consent. If, at any time, you would like to stop receiving these communications, you may follow the opt-out instructions contained in any such email or reach out to us at the contact below and we will take the necessary steps.

How do we protect visitor information?

We take the protection of your privacy very seriously at WVCS. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology through our 3rd party payment partners (PayPal, Inc.). We implement a variety of security measures when you make a donation or enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information. All transactions are processed through a gateway provider and are not stored or processed on our servers.

 

COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)

When it comes to the collection of personal information from children under 13, the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) puts parents in control. The Federal Trade Commission, the nation's consumer protection agency, enforces the COPPA Rule, which spells out what operators of websites and online services must do to protect children's privacy and safety online. We do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have received any such data, we will take immediate steps to delete the data.
