A Special Mother's Day Gift

Support another, in honor of your Mother, this Mother's Day!

Share Your Love !

Join us as we honor the hardest workers we know - Moms - many of whom are selflessly fighting on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis. This Mother’s Day, we invite you to honor your mother, wife, grandmother, sister, daughter, partner, teacher or other loved one by making a Mother’s Day donation to urgently support families in need.

In recognition of your support, West Valley Community Services will email a personalized Mother’s Day e-card to your loved ones letting them know a gift was made in their honor (we do not share donation amounts). Please make sure to include your loved one's name and email contact information in the donation form. The card sample can be seen here.

"I am Racheal, I wanted to share my story with you all. I am a mother to my nine year old daughter and a granddaughter to Edna, my loving 84 year old grandmother! Unfortunately, my whole family has been diagnosed with COVID-19, including my grandmother. My family and I have been quarantined for three weeks now!

Much before the coronavirus started, I came to WVCS for help. My grandmother, my daughter and I were all victims of an abusive situation in my family. It came to a point where to keep ourselves from further harm, we escaped to a place unknown to the perpetrator of the violence. My aging grandmother has chronic health issues and physical disabilities so it was crucial for me to provide a safe home for her. I needed help urgently and I approached West Valley Community Services (WVCS). There I received food and support to sustain my family. WVCS helped me get back on my feet. I found a job and then eventually was able to take on a second job at a grocery store for extra money to cover our rent.

And then, after everything was finally going well and we were able to breathe a sigh of relief, disaster struck again in the form of COVID-19. My grandmother visited the hospital for her regular appointments, and perhaps during that visit that my grandmother was exposed to coronavirus. Soon the disease spread to me and my daughter. Although I am able to retain my main job (on sick leave now), I lost my job at the grocery store. My pay is not enough to cover both food and rent. I was left with no choice but to contact WVCS again to ask for help.

WVCS jumped in promptly to help our family remain safe and quarantined through our illness. They are assisting me and my family by delivering food to my doorstep. They are helping with household needs and cleaning supplies. They are even helping to pay our next month's rent so my 84-year-old grandma, my young daughter and I don’t end up living on the streets!

We would have been homeless and without food had it not been for West Valley Community Service. They have been the greatest gift for us at this difficult time. Please accept our grateful thanks!"- Racheal

This Mother’s Day you can be a light to a family experiencing an incredibly dark and difficult time in their lives. Please help support mothers like Rachael and Edna, who have been devastated by the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis. Each gift will help us assist even more families like theirs.

Show your compassion on Mother's Day!
