A Special Mother's Day Gift

Support another, in honor of your Mother, this Mother's Day!

Share Your Love !

Join us as we honor the hardest workers we know - Moms - many of whom are selflessly fighting on the front lines of the COVID-19 crisis. This Mother’s Day, we invite you to honor your mother, wife, grandmother, sister, daughter, partner, teacher or other loved one by making a Mother’s Day donation to urgently support families in need.

In recognition of your support, West Valley Community Services will email a personalized Mother’s Day e-card to your loved ones letting them know a gift was made in their honor (we do not share donation amounts). Please make sure to include your loved one's name and email contact information in the donation form. The card sample can be seen here.

Liliana is a single mother of 3 children. She has used WVCS services for over a year now. Due to the pandemic, Liliana lost a part time job. However, she was able to make ends meet when she was getting the extra EDD income. When the additional $600 EDD income was taken away, it caused Liliana to be unable to afford her expenses. Liliana did not have to worry about her rent the last 3 months and she was embarrassed to have to ask WVCS for help again. She decided to wait some days to see if she was able to get some money from friends and family. However, it seemed that no one was able to help her financially due to COVID-19. Liliana’s case manager suggested that she should apply for financial assistance. Liliana mentioned that she was embarrassed, but her landlord was demanding that she pay her rent. Due to SCC allowing other businesses to open up it meant that Liliana would be able to go back to her part time job at the restaurant. WVCS was able to help Liliana with September rent. The assistance made it possible for Liliana to not be behind in her rent and in debt. Liliana is extremely grateful for all the help that WVCS has assisted her and her 3 young children.

This Mother’s Day you can be a light to a family experiencing an incredibly dark and difficult time in their lives. Please help support mothers like Liliana, who have been devastated by the economic impact of the COVID-19 crisis. Each gift will help us assist even more families like theirs.
